Installing Travertine Tile

The Process of Installing Travertine Tile

Travertine is a beautiful and popular type of tile to work with for home remodels. What you will need for installing travertine tile?

Installing Travertine Tile

Installing travertine tile floors, you will need not only the tile, but also grout and thin-set and if your floor has cracks, you will need an anti-cracks or anti-fracture membrane or coat before installing travertine tile on the floor, this will help your travertine tile to not break in the future.

Before installing travertine tile make sure you prepare the floor underneath. You need a smooth, clean surface to adhere the tile to.

Before installing travertine tile, mark the midpoint of each wall and connect opposite walls with a chalk line. Installing travertine tile, plan the tile layout by laying a row of tiles along the grid-line on the floor.

Make sure to set the first tile while you are finishing your project as travertine, pool copings so both sides touch the chalk line. It is very important while you are working on these travertine and natural stones to press down on the tile so that it gets firmly into the twinset.

While you are working on travertine tile continue to add mortar as you fill in the first quadrant.

If you are installing travertine tile on the wall make sure you measure the distance between the outside tile and the wall.

Installing travertine tile is really not that hard. We have many professionals out there who are installing travertine tile for quite some time.

Travertine tiles are one of the many stone tiling options available in today’s market. Maybe you can think if you use marble on some area. DOES MARBLE BETTER THAN TRAVERTINE? You will think and this question for many times? But we know that it depends that where you will use your natural stone!! This is the only answer you can follow up with! What is your project details? What will you do on that stone? Is there any specific action, like parking your car? Cleaning frequently? Any BBQ? People walks on it too much? You may get some answer from our BLOG page right there. Please check it out our Useful information about the natural stone.

Whether you installing travertine tile on the wall,  or installing travertine tile on the floor the installation process is similar. In both instances, you need to plan out the tiles to feature the natural veins and texture of the travertine stone.

After the marble installation allow 24 hours to dry, than you can begin to grout. The marble family is actually having the same kind of work and maybe it requires little bit more labor than this. Because if you use some polished marble you don’t want to scratch damage, or break it. Travertine Tiles depends for the usage area that you can use them as pool place, bbq places, some living area as yards. But the thickness is very important topic for natural stone. If you choose a wrong thickness for your back yard you may damage it with heavy stuffs that we don’t want that. Because natural stone as we all know is an only ONE TIME INVESTMENT.
